Post 21 Fort Myers

  Fort Myers Jan 11-17 In Fort Myers we stayed at an upscale RV park that’s part of the Sun Resorts chain.   The amenities were great and the community was very friendly.   We even painted coconuts one evening in the community center. We mailed, yes, mailed, said coconuts home to a few grandchildren that we knew would appreciate the novelty. There were camper vans, trailers and class A and class C rigs of all sizes and permanent mobile home sites there.   Many of the people were snowbirds from up north.   Check out the solar panels on that bus!   Also, some of the best bathrooms!   We keep saying we wished we had taken a picture of every shower we had used.   Some were spa-like and some were like a prison camp.   Our first outing in Ft Myers was to Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island.   What a great place for birding! Post 20 Venice, Florida

  Venice Dec 29- Jan 11, 2026 We rolled into Venice on Dec 29 and checked into a sweet little guest house in the country.   Kristy, the owner had recently purchased the property and we were her first guests.   It was a lovely place with a pool and a small pond on 7 acres. We made a trip to downtown Venice- lots of little specialty shops and restaurants with a riverwalk along the waterway between the island and the mainland.   Cindy picked up an ice coffee and we walked the main street.   We checked out a few stores and sat for a while in the city park at the fountain/Splash pad. There was another cold snap in Florida so we used the time to catch up on some of our shows.   We rarely have TV and internet is either poor or non-existent. We made the stop in Venice to visit some friends (Lorrie and Patrick) that we met in Moracco last year.   We had a delicious lunch with them on New Year’s Eve afternoon.   We had so much fun with them in Morocco and...
